Shell milling pan rails only .002" to preserve block stampings
John's block in the performance fixture, indicated in and set to be align bored.
Indicating pan rail with block set to align bore. This one was very straight
The Rottler hard at work truing up the mains
We ran ten passes at .001" each to ensure this one was on the money.                It is!!
Finished main saddles ready for the 3.910" stroker crank to go in.
Roughing endmill for the stroker clearancing.
This true milling procedure sets the bell housing end perpendicular to the crank
Just .002" off the oil pump face to true it up for the new pump.
Pan rails being checked. We milled them as flat as we could without disturbing factory block stampings.
The front of the block gets a light clean up and squaring.
Boring the cylinders for the .030 over Forged Diamond pistons.
Boring head caught in a still shot mid cut. It's capable of some very heavy cuts if needed.
Big block mopar swallows the whole boring head to cut down the bore.
It only takes 4 minutes to bore a bank of 4 cylinders... hardly enough time to drink my coffee...
Here you can see the 'shadow' in the number seven cylinder.
These 'shadows' are due to our moving the cylinders from their original location to a true location.......
...back on the crank centerline and back to a true 4.800" bore center.
By the time we make the last pass..
...these 'shadows' will just disappear leaving enough meat for the hone.
The first step in lifter bushing... spot face and counter bore.
Next is cut the new lifter bore oversize and blue print it's location.
We ream for a press fit on the new bronze bushing.
You wouldn't believe how far off most factory blocks really are.
And a final ream to set lifter clearance.
After checking lifter locations and angles on every Mopar block throught the mill, I'm convinced they all need bushed.....
Setting the block height at 10.710 for this stroker setup.  We've some really twisted wedge decks come through this thing..
This block wasn't one of the twisted one's, but it did have a low corner... overall this block was in great shape.
